The Day of the Dead tradition holds a profound connection to our innate yearning for enduring bonds with our cherished ones, even when they've departed from this world. While we often associate this holiday with collective gatherings, it's equally important to appreciate the intimate, personal expressions of love during this shared festivity. Amidst the shared festivities observed by many, each individual forges their own distinct, deeply personal reconnections with their loved ones.

This showcase features artists from the Central Valley who were invited to interpret the title of the exhibition in any way: to craft representations of their loved ones, to create messages for them, or any combination of the two. While Dia de los Muertos is Latinx-based, this exhibition welcomes artwork that is reflective of multiple cultural and personal traditions.
